Can you tell we were at Barb and Ray's recently..............

Pretty clamatis in Barb and Ray's yard.......

A bee taken with the macro lens. I'm telling you, folks, I risk life and limb for you. :)

Delicious salad made by Barb - she rocks!

Quinn...........

Her eyes are so cute in these pictures. The funny thing is, they were WIDE open as I took the picture, but I guess the flash caused a reflex reaction - too cute..............

Buh-bye Barb and Ray's view................

A thing of the past as of July 1........ it was lovely, but on to greater and better things. :)

That's Mount Baker in the distance.... looks lovely.........

Plants hate me...........

They always die in my house ........ but I enjoy looking at the beautiful flowers we have in the Great Vancouver area.

Rhododendrons of all kinds...........

Using a macro lens can be dangerous .... luckily, he didn't get me. :)

A lovely wisteria vine ...........

More rhodos........

The African Violet again........

Very Cute.......

I've never seen this many blossoms on an African Violet - it's always one or two or something.......
I think this is a champion! And Grace got it at Safeway for about a dollar - go figure! :D

Post Olympics nonsense..........

A cute little souvenir of the Olympics that my friend Grace has.

April 12 - 24

Chris Botti at the Orpheum on the 12th - it was AWESOME! Chris has the most beautiful tone on the trumpet. The band was excellent!

I was too lazy to hang around - didn't have my CD with me. I could have stood around and just gawked at him - hahahahahaha. But I didn't. :|

Still loving my macro lens! I love how it makes everything look so big and you can see all the little dew or rain drops.

Some miscellaneous blossoms for which I have no names........

Pseudobombax Ellipticum - who knew!!!!!!!!!!

A friend saw this in Cuba recently and then my sister told me the name - since she had seen it in Cuba a few years ago. Psuedobombax Ellipticum. What a beautiful tree/flower. Also called "the shaving brush tree". Just gorgeous!

It blooms from March to May and blooms are white, near white and pink. Love the pink! :)

And I do not claim to have taken these photos. I am just sharing them and enjoying them with you. :)

African Violet

I've never seen an African Violet with this many flowers on it!!!!!!!!!!! Do I just not get out often enough? :)

Thursday, March 25

Flowers at Dr. K's. I love using the macro lens to get close-ups. These two were without the flash. It was about 7 p.m.

This one was taken with the flash - makes the colour look off. The true colour is the shots above.

I forget what this is called.

Rings Watch! Sort of.......

March 8th - I noticed some activity at the Olympic rings and thought I'd record them dismantling the rings. Came upon this scene. I didn't recall seeing those big half moon pieces but didn't really know what was going on.

March 9th - there didn't seem to have been much activity in a day. I mean, HOW LONG does it take to dismantle some rings!

March 10th - I'm thinking - OK, where the hell did they hide those half moons all that time!

March 11th - AHA! I see - these must be something to do with the PARAlympics. All starts to make a big of sense.

Later that night - didn't have my camera on the right setting for night shots and I still need a tripod, but you get the idea. Red, blue and green.

Today they were all just white. Can't seem to find any references to them online. Oh well, they are cute. :)
