Where the hell have I been?
Love these flowers on Minoru Blvd across from Cronos Restaurant. Have to say I'm not impressed with their lasagne! Pizza was ok. Anyway, the flowers were the best thing about going to Cronos. :)Still blogging - nearly a year!
Just been busy at work. Still taking pictures, but recently mostly of folks. Took some of flowers around our complex.
This photo is a tad fuzzy in parts...... but I love it. :D

Stanley Park on Father's Day...
Looking across English Bay to Kitsilano area.
Ships out in Spanish Banks.
Love the close up. Click on it to see the fuzzies on the little flowers.
Some freak in the park - ROFL! (OK, so it's Tam...)
Hmmm - trees in Stanley Park - who knew! :D
It was difficult scraping some photos together. :D
Hollyhocks. Click for an excellent close up. :D
Not sure what this is, but just practicing with my macro lens. Still need a fricken tripod!

Fraser River Redux .....
It was a great day for just hanging in the car and reading (Rick) or watching THE SAINT (me) on my iPod. :D I did a lot of putzing around with my new Sony T700 camera and finally am figuring out where things are! Anyway, I loved it when I was busy watching my movie, or playing Sudoku and all of a sudden I'd hear a big humming noise and turn around and - "Holy Shit, Rick, look at that huge ship!" They have a way of sneaking up on you! *G*
And this is one of them that snuck up on me. I just wish I had figured out where the VIDEO recording was located when that first ship above went by - it looked SO HUGE. It was very close, whereas this one was further away. Oh well, next time..... :D And that's a little George Shearing playing "Bluesette".

REAL renos......
Well, in the past month RR has painted the living room/dining area and the hallway and the ceiling as well. I love how this corner looks with the new mini blind! Woo! Still have a few minor things to finish to get things back in order. I don't think we have the energy to HAUL everything out of the bedroom and paint it as well. zzzzzzzzzzzz I guess we should decide that asap. The living/dining area is a lilac colour (not pink, as it seems), the hallway is a lovely cream colour, white ceilings, and the bedroom will eventually be painted a light coral colour.
sigh.... I guess we really should just break down and do it ... it's all that HAULING............ :D
I guess it isn't all THAT much work considering it hasn't been done in 7 years!
The vertical blinds in the living room. They are amazingly simple to install.

Vertical Blinds
I was pleasantly surprised at how EASY these were to install. Just three clips screwed into the wall - the key is doing a great job on this part - and then you just snap the rod in, add the "vanes" and the valance, and away you go. They were about $40 and are plastic, but I really don't care. They do the job and work for me. They also really block out the sun fantastically so hopefully keeping the one shut during the day will keep the sun out and keep the joint cool. We'll put that one up tomorrow. :D
I finally went to "protected" status on Twitter. Not that anyone cares what I say, but I was just getting too many advertisers and weirdos showing up. If interested, just ask me to add you and if I know you or you aren't a freak, I'll add you. :D
Update - changed my mind - too much of a pain in the arse to have it "protected". I'll just block the stupid advertisers. Now the whole world can watch me in peace and quiet. :D

Still out here.... loving the macro lens.....

This little fella is such a cutie!
Not sure about these purple ones. Cute, though.
We've (read: RR) been painting the joint! Taking a while and it's a mess since we don't have all that much space to move things around! But it's coming alone. Living room/dining area is lilac with the fireplace wall a darker shade. Hallway a cream colour. I finally decided today the bedroom will be a light coral colour. I'm excited about that. :D

Caffe Artigiano
Went there on Friday for a latte. MC ordered a cappuccino. They basically gave her a latte! She said don't you make cappuccinos? The guy said they make them with all the milk so they can do the design on the top. Hey - the design is nice, but why bother to put cappuccinos on the menu if you aren't going to give a person one!? I must e-mail them!

Not sure what some of these are....
This flower was on a tree - don't think it's a dogwood.
And not sure what this one is....
[Update - duh - it's a rhododendron again - sheesh..... ]

My new shower curtain...

I changed my bathmat and toilet mat to charcoal grey so I had to change the shower curtain since green and beige no longer went with them! Found this at Ed's Linens and Things. It's so darn cute! The funny thing is, our tub doesn't even HAVE a shower in it. And we RARELY use the tub any more since we have and love the shower! In 7 years I think the tub hasn't been used more than a dozen times. But it needs a curtain cause I use it to store pails and mops etc. since our apartment is so tiny! I just LOVE this curtain. BTW, this is just a scan, it's not REALLY our bathroom - I wish! Here is the real one:
It is 3-dimensional - little boas, some pearls and rhinestones on various parts of the design. Really cute!

Eagles in the city....

I found this eagle on Friday in the 900 block of West Broadway. Which makes me think there are others around town. :D
I Googled and found this: Eagles in the City.

I had to take a picture of this photo that is in the lobby of the Diamond Health Care Centre. There is currently a photo display, I'm not sure exactly what it's called, but it's about doctors helping children in poor countries - with their health issues, surgery etc. The little hand belongs to Betty who is 10. She needed heart surgery. I can't look at this picture without nearly crying. But I want to save it here - it just is so precious.
