This just in - well, about 6 hours ago - hahahaha

Who would believe that *I* would be on the scene of any action! I was just riding with RR on his bus for the last bit before he was finished, and as we passed #5 Road and Steveston I saw this cop car and then I saw a fire truck and - lo and behold - DUH - I saw this tanker truck turned over on the road! Unfortunately, only had the iPhone ready and got this shot, but I think you can see it. Man, who'd ever think I'd get to see anything interesting. :D (Back to Bret Hart later.) (Sorry for the crappy shot - the window was really dirty, too - argh!)

Is wrestling fake?

Just finished reading Bret's book "Hitman". I found it a bit boring/slow going for the first while. As it progressed it got more interesting. I spent all morning reading it on Saturday. Some parts were TMI (too much info) - like some of his escapades with the chicks on the road and his relationship with his wife during those years, only because I think about his kids reading the book and I find that a tad embarrassing. I'm all for honesty, but there were a few facts he could have omitted.

Since we have our own little history with wrestling (thanks to TR) about 1989-93, I enjoyed reading about the other wrestlers and what he thought of them. Who was really nice and who was an arsehole! Some were surprising.

And I thought *I* knew dysfunctional families! Bret lets it all hang out but I felt that he was being genuine. I found it a great read for many reasons. Hey, he's a babe! Let's just get that out of the way. *G* Not that it has anything to do with the story. But, he was one of the few Canadian wrestlers who were in the WWF. We saw the WWF here a few times and on PPV. It was corny, but it was hilarious! I'm shocked at the people who really think it's real! Hello in there. (It IS fake, isn't it?) I can see why they changed the name to WWE - much more appropriate!

I found myself checking everyone out on the internet and I was sad to see how many of them had died from drug overdoses or side effects from the drugs/steroids. What a shame.

Owen Hart, RIP!

I love this guy!

Claude Saucier! Announcer on CBC Radio-Canada. I don't understand everything he says, but I "get" a lot of it. Wish I understood French better! Rats!

Anyway, I wrote him an e-mail today, telling him that I don't speak French all that well, but I enjoy his show. This is what he wrote back:

C'est très amusant de vous lire. Vous comprenez l'essentiel, c'est ce qui compte.

bonne journée

Claude Saucier

Ah ... Quel homme. :D

No rain...

This is obviously NOT my plant. Plants hate me and just die to get away from me.
This is something we did not need today - an UMBRELLA plant.
This plant is like a mini jungle!

It was the same old fog this morning - then this in the afternoon!
The view out an office window. Can you believe it!

Thursday, Jan. 22.

Hey, if you have a mac, don't pirate software. Doesn't sound good:

Margie's lipstick plant.

Looking across from Richmond to Vancouver. No fog tonight.

Jan. 21/09 - the fog is abating slightly ....

It still was foggy, but the visibility was farther, so that is hopeful.
I love the fog but I'm sick of it now - hahahaha.
For the past few days theweathernetwork.com would keep saying "sunny"
but by the next day it was foggy again! All right, already!

I really need to remember to bring my "real" camera with me so I can get some pictures at night that aren't blurry all the time. iPhones (well, at least this HACKED first edition one) do not take photos of lights at all well. But I wanted to say - here's the Richmond Olympic Oval. Yes, a famous landmark for 2010! Not that I care one iota about the Olympics, that's for sure. I hope I have those two weeks off from work so I don't have to go anywhere NEAR anything to do with the Olympics. :D

Ahhhhhh...... two things I love. Lattes (I made it myself with our Starbucks Barista) and my mug that Love Bug made me for Christmas. On the other side it says "I.N.N." (I nub noo). :D

What can you say?????

Last night....

And on the way home at 5 ....

Nice Sunday drive......

I love to drive along River Road in Richmond from Number 6 road to New Westminster. It's such a nice drive. I knew it would be great in the fog today! Here are a few of the shots we took, starting around 4:00 p.m. ...

Here's that train tressle thing from a few months ago - looks nice and spooky in the fog - the photo doesn't really do it justice.

This guy was taking pictures of something - not sure what, because the train tressle thing was open so no trains were going to be showing up. He had much better cameras than we did. :D

That haze is actually fog - it was thinning out near the Wal-Mart area.

An hour or so later it was dark already and I got RR to take some photos. They are a little fuzzy due to driving in the car - but that kind of adds something to the photos. Oh, right - fuzziness! :D

The old boat from a few months ago...

And THE SAINT must still be around somewhere....

Food! Last night - Ray and Barb's!

Some nice wine....

... delicious salad....

... crab-encrusted halibut... followed by tuxedo cake for dessert!
It was a delicious meal! Barb is a FAB-U-LOUS chef!

Then, today RR made chili for Tam's birthday gathering...

... it was great! We especially loved the chocolate cake and DQ ice cream. hahahah

Of course, no day would be complete without more of THIS STUFF!
We drove home from R&B's last night in this, and it was the same
all the way home tonight! Very dense. Love it, but you need to be cautious...

And more of the same ....

Not QUITE as much fog today ... although we had a false alarm again today and
we're thinking perhaps the fog is setting off the sensors on the roof. Yikes!

Just think - two weeks ago the snow on this boulevard was probably about 4-5 feet deep!
Typical Vancouver-ish weather!

Fog....

Arthur Laing Bridge! Total fog - couldn't see a thing - awesome! :D

Coquitlam.

Kind of a neat shot, I thought. :D

Kang Panang

You might well wonder why I'm posting a picture of this. Well, because I LOVE IT!

Since the snow took over the WORLD, I have been too busy bitching about it and hanging out indoors, since GOING ANYWHERE was a pain! And the side streets are horrid, so I can't even park and walk to work, and have been parking in the parkade.

Solution - post some pictures I've taken in the past. This one is from Sawasdee on Main Street, and it's my absolute favourite Thai dish! I wish I were there right now...... Ahhhhhhhh.........

Just trying to maintain the blog, peeps. :D

Death

The deaths over the past week or so are really bugging me. I don't even know these people, yet it's very shocking.

The eight men who died in the avalanche near Fernie, BC a week ago. Now Jett Travolta.

One minute they are there, the next minute they are gone. It's just too sad.........

There are others, but these ones just struck closer to home..... I know the hell they are going through.....

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............

It looks nice out the window, but it's ticking me RIGHT off! :)

Happy New Year!

My new best friend! The Microsoft curved keyboard - only $24 CDN! I love the feel of it. I love the ergonomic/natural keyboards but the latest one from Addesso sucks because the touch is just too stiff. So, I thought I'd try this one and so far I'm quite happy with it. Love the price, love the feel. Happy New Year to me. :D
