Ok, this is getting annoying already....

Another fire alarm, this time at about 6:45 p.m. I can just recycle my fire truck from last time cause it's dark out. Although, I really should have taken some pictures - there was some neat fog out there. :D

Ray and Barb's Christmas Decorations

It's not easy to photograph lights! You can't use a flash cause
you don't get the same effect. And perhaps I should get a tripod -
that might help!

Haven't taken any photos in the last few days. I need to go find some nifty Christmas shots.

I ALWAYS miss the boat with great TV shows. Didn't really pay attention to Miami Vice when it was on in the 80s. Never watched Rockford Files. Never watched Seinfeld. Never watched Due South!

Well, there is a benefit to this. I get to discover them years later, when they're all out on DVD and I can binge watch! Have all 5 seasons of MV, ALL THE SAINT from the 60s, we have all the SEINFELD, NERO WOLFE.

Well, time for DUE SOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) Here goes nothing..... :D

Seattle

RR and I spent Saturday evening in Seattle while TR was at a concert. Met up with a friend, Elaine. Had a great gab session at Starbucks in the U district. One of the few places open until 2 a.m., I'm guessing. Didn't get to bed until about 5 a.m. - zzzzzzzzz. Forgot to take pictures!

My first Christmas photo....

Well, today at noon I was out with Miss M (you know who you are!), went radio shopping and then headed to Solly's! This was right across the street and I didn't even see it until she pointed it out. I knew at that second that it was time to let autumn go and move on to - "CHRISTMAS"!  (or whatever you want to call it)  I love what they've done here!

What the hell are these!!!!!!!!!!!??????

Ok - it's difficult to get a picture of this when trying to DRIVE, but if you can see this - what the hell is that thing on top of the lamp post. It looks like some kind of antennae. There are about 5 to 10 of them on lamp posts on the Arthur Lang Bridge. Are they some kind of weather sensor, or traffic sensor? It's driving me nuts not knowing! Help! :D

Bellingham

Had to pick up some parcels in Blaine tonight so we continued on to Bellingham. Trader Joe's and the Co-op store. Man, I love TJ's Tandoori Naan bread - heavenly. :D And what night would be complete without Starbucks!

More joy.....

Well, the day starts out with a false alarm at 5 a.m., followed by 2 hours in the dentist chair! JOY!!!! Actually, we have a new dentist, and he is THE BEST! Dr. Ernest Schmidt at Pacific Spirit Dental Centre at UBC! Which is on the UBC Endowment Lands, which contains Pacific Spirit Regional Park. It's a lovely drive.


And I now have a very lovely ceramic onlay tooth - hahahahahaha. Great dentist! If you need a new dentist, give him a call. :D 604-244-2411! Tell him Judie sent you. :D

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Where EVERYONE wants to be at 5 a.m. and 6 degrees Celsius! Well, I don't mind the 6 degrees, but it's so annoying to be woken up to a false alarm! zzzzzzzzzzz

Then again, better a false alarm than a real fire - so .... ok, never mind.... :D

Aliens!

If you live in Richmond, perhaps you've seen some weird bright light areas in the south, towards Ladner (Delta). Well, tonight we went to investigate. We'd heard that some farms in Ladner were lighting up their greenhouses with bright lights that were annoying the neighbours. And in the spring we had seen this bright light every morning around 4:30 when I was driving RR to work! So we took a drive to see what we could find. These lights were at a place on 41B - turns out to be Windset Greenhouses. I can't find any articles on any controversy, but .... at least I know where that light is coming from, and that it's not Close Encounters of the Weird Kind! :-)

Unfortunately, forgot my camera - AGAIN! - or the picture would have been better. Sheesh!

Moon and Wind

It was very windy today - gusting from 40-70, or so they were saying. And it just happens to be a full moon today. This was the moon this morning. That's facing north west.

Then I got to work and these greeted me on the steps to Starbucks. Thought they looked neat.

Then tonight I could have got just THE BEST photo of the moon over the high rises going over the Granville Bridge, but I wasn't ready with the camera. ARGH! By the time I got home I was too lazy to go out photo hunting so I just took this. Same corner as this morning, just facing east. Can you tell which one is the moon? :D

The traffic was so light, it was great. I wish it were like this every day. Parked about 5 blocks away so I get a bit of a walk both ways - quite enjoyable!

Japanese Maple by Night

This is funny. Took this picture standing on my friend's steps, it was dark, I could still see the tree not too badly, but - as usual with my iPhone - no flash so everything looks quite dark. I still think it looks pretty good - click to see it larger. :-)

Rain

No walking Thurs and Fri - heavy rains and wild winds! It was enjoyable to just park in the parkade and relax for a couple of days!

Two pictures of our complex front entrance. The first was last Saturday, with my digital camera, and the second was taken on Wednesday, with my iPhone. Thus, the second one looks a little blurry, plus it was 7:22 a.m. - not much sun yet. Love the colours.

The second one kind of reminds me of Christmas for some reason.

Saturday, Nov. 1/08 - Train Crossing Fraser River

I enjoy the drive along River Road between Richmond and New West - or vice versa. :)

I've been meaning to take a picture of the train bridge cause it's always open and looks kind of spooky to me. Well, today it wasn't open and I thought - darn! Then I thought - ok, if it's closed where's the train? Drove around a bend and - there it was. I never thought to turn on the video on my camera, but I got a few shots. Oh well, there's a tugboat to come next. :)
