Very brilliant colours and so vibrant!

Ray's video

Ray is hoping to do more film-making. This is one he made from the trip to Regina this summer.

Laughing Legless

Ok - this is too funny.  My nephew Greg created this tribute to his mom Peggy and uncle Ray - my siblings - hahahaha.  Yes, we are whacked out!

Back in the Hood...

After the dentist today I went to visit Little Judelf and happened to take a detour down this street. LOVE the red leaves. We used to live in this hood for about 27 years.......

Sunday at Walmart

Before we went to Wal-Mart we decided (well, *I* decided) we were going for a walk. So, we parked at WM and there's a little path "down by the river" that you can walk on. It's not a great path, as paths go, but it was sufficient. So we walked to the end, turned around and came back. Only about 20 minutes. Here is the Queensborough Bridge...

And that is the Skytrain over in New Westminster.

A view of the vista along Highway 91, facing north.

Crossing the Knight Street Bridge, facing north.

And crossing the Knight Street Bridge, facing east.

These shots were taken yesterday but I got interrupted doing my blog. Just thought some of you foreigners *G* might like to see a few of the sights. It was a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday - and today.

History ... and a tree...

See that window in the top left corner? That used to be my office. It's south facing, two huge 4' x 8' windows - THAT DIDN'T OPEN! I thought for sure I was going to die there in the summer of 2006, so I taped all that white paper onto the window in hopes of keeping out the sun. Lucky for me, I had about the ONLY office on our floor that actually had air conditioning in it. Don't know if the paper helped, but I did NOT suffer that summer. I had a fan also but I just lucked out with that office. The hilarious thing is, that paper is STILL on the window over 2 years later! I see a few pieces have fallen off, but ... that's virtually how I left it.... :D

Saw this gorgeous yellow tree today - it looks like a fun place to be under these leaves.

A carpet of leaves - so pretty....

Paper Curtains - and the sign says it all

Hey, how come no one told ME about paper curtains before!? They're cheap (oh ... sorry ... inexpensive) and really easy to install - and they look better than what I had up there - ROFL! I know Margie would think I have a lot of class now - hahahahahaha. I'm leaving these up until we paint the joint. Don't know if that will be an incentive, or if I'll have paper curtains for a few years - hahahahaha.

Then there is this! The signs say it all. COME, ON!!!!!!!! Too funny. :D
Click on the photo to see what the problem with their sign is. :D

Weekly update

This is a photo Lorri took in Alaska in 2007. I think it's hilarious and I bought it. Beautifully framed - I am supporting my pal, and a Canadian artist. :-)

Well, here is my tree. I can't believe that green stuff is STILL hanging there. This was taken on Thursday! The rest of the tree is looking so nearly dead. It actually looks better in the photo than in real life, if that's possible. I hope it's still hanging in there Tuesday and that it's sunny insteady of rainy/gloomy. We'll see....

Went to Granville Island for lunch with Margie. She will be SO impressed that she's on my blog - hahahahahahha. Another typical Vancouver day - woo! Love it. ;)

I wish I had more time to blog but just too busy during the week. By the time I get home from work I'm bagged! :D Oh well.... I'm just going to veg this weekend.

This SHOULD have been the winning Hockey Night in Canada Anthem!

This is my bro's Hockey Night In Canada theme that he submitted to the CBC contest. (He actually submitted 3, but this is the best!) I have to say that there hasn't been one entry that I've heard that I liked more than this one. Obviously, people will think I'm biased, but this tune is catchy and energetic and really is miles above any of the others. The winning one sounds like a mishmash - I can't imagine anyone ever remembering it! Ray's tune grabs you and it's catchy and memorable.

WHAT-EVER, CBC!

Update - thanks to GregP for redoing it with some appropriate graphics. :D

Canada Line is testing

There are about half a dozen trains up on the Canada Line in Richmond on Number 3 Road. :D

Look at "my tree" - almost all red except for that patch at the top.  What a weirdo. :D

Kiva

See post below. I am a member of Kiva (kiva.org) and donated $25 to a project. I just think this organization is wonderful. You can invest as much or little (minimum $25) to projects to help people.

Now Kiva has a chance to earn 1.5 million dollars from American Express. Anyone who wants to check out Kiva and vote for them to win, it would be much appreciated. I believe it has to be existing American Express members.

Anyway, a worthwhile project I wanted to tell people about.

Help Kiva If You Can

Teddie The Cat

Ray and Barb's cat - just a little slideshow I don't want to lose. :D He's so cute!!!!

Mike Holmes for Prime Minister :D

I'm voting for Mike on October 14th. :D

Happy Birthday, Des. Off to Sawasdee!

I'm back. All is right with the world. :D

This is the kind of stuff I see while sitting in a traffic line up on the way to work.
If you see weird things in the picture it's just my dirty car windows.

This is another sumac, but it's just a tiny one, and I like how it's playing in the grass. :)

Another view out the window from work. I must bring my REAL camera to work to get some higher quality shots. You never know when I might want to frame one and put it in my office. ;)

Oh - forgot to say that we saw BURN AFTER READING last Sunday. OHMYGOD, it was hilarious!!!!! Several different story lines intersecting - totally ridiculous - but I killed myself laughing throughout. I love wacky stories like that. Brad Pitt was AWESOME in it. Go see it just for him - he was so funny! Yeah, a few guys get killed, but .... I laughed all through RESERVOIR DOGS, too. :D

Holy cow - where have I been!!!!!!?????

My favourite tree is coming along quite nicely! ;) Look at how pretty it is....

And I love this creeping vine across the street - all the autumn colours are starting to really show. Love it!!!!

Just going to work and I never seem to get home before 9! We seem to end up grocery shopping or last night went for Indian food at 49th and Main. Butter chicken - oh, yeahhhhh!

TR and RR went for a bike ride yesterday afternoon since he has a week off. They went to Steveston - and lucky them, they didn't have to wait for me to catch up to them. hahahahaha
